During summer season, heat isn’t always a friend: it does not help us to make the best decisions. However, a tasty, refreshing product with a bit of theine like Nestea can wise us up. Starting from this idea, McCann Madrid conceived this cheery campaign for the famous iced tea brand conveying two different summer holiday dilemmas: both for him and her. She doubts whether to rent a classic tourism or a fearless van; and he wonders if he may go to the nudist beach –that implies taking off his swimsuit– or not. Both situations show two very different options, and drinking Nestea empowers to choose the riskier one.
That difficult moment of hesitation is manifested in the film through a bunch of tiny clones of the main characters that appear divided in two groups: the pro-adventurers and the ones against it. Reminding human neurons, we designed these little characters alongside the artist Maroto, who put a great effort on giving them a lot of personality. We also had the pleasure to work with Olov Burman leading the animation team, which achieved to convey the characters’ movements and facial expressions in a very unique, groundbreaking way.
As it was a mixed media campaign, we collaborated once again with our colleagues from Canada and the directors’ team Manson for the live-action shooting. And last but not least, we were in charge of developing the campaign’s pack shot: a mixture between realism and CGI –the two worlds appearing in the film– which portrayed those cool summer vibes and the product freshness transmitted by the campaign.
