Under the direction of Valentin Guiod and in collaboration with the production company Birth, we have contributed to the latest Buchanan’s campaign.
Our task has been to develop all the graphics, ilustration, typography, animations, 2D, and 3D elements for the four films comprising the campaign: the 15-second spots for the films “Food,” “Music,” and “Product,” and the 45-second main feature, “Holiday.”

In this campaign, it was crucial to integrate mixed media with a simple, open, and collaborative language. Therefore, all the elements and typography have been specially crafted, meticulously designed in both 3D and 2D formats.
Each of the films has a completely different style. For the film “Food,” we aimed to give it a more crafty touch. The film begins with a vertical format, focusing on Daniel Buezo holding a Buchanan’s Deluxe on the rocks, Surrounded by various integrated elements like a collage. In this film, we focused on creating assets and typography by hand, giving it a crafty and carefree vibe.

The film “Music” begins with DJ VRYWVY as she gets ready to play her set at a club. She films herself with a wide-angle camera and interacts with the crowd, sipping a Buchanan’s Pineapple cocktail from a bedazzled bottle. For this film, we wanted to add an urban touch by incorporating elements like emojis and typography created in 3D.
The film “Product” primarily focuses on the brand’s bottle, aiming to showcase its essence and craftsmanship. We’ve added some 2D elements to the bottle to make it stand out and appreciate its beauty. At the same time, with handwritten lettering, we’ve added by hand the ingredients of the cocktails that can be created with the product.

The main film “Holiday” starts at a Thanksgiving gathering with many friends. They are all seated around a long table, enjoying homemade dishes (pernil, rice, salads, etc.). Everyone is chatting, cheering, and drinking cocktails with Buchanan’s bottles. It’s very lively and authentic, just like the moments we cherish with friends and family. Djali Brown-Cepeda is seated on the other side.

We cross the table from one side to another, above the food and drinks. As we do, dishes, drinks, people flicker in an elegant collage-like manner, transforming into archive photos of Colombian dishes, gatherings, and people. Behind her (rotoscoped), collage compositions of New York archives and Colombian buildings create a lively backdrop within the dining room.
